Understanding the Client’s Needs and Challenges

The Mansfield project presented a unique challenge: a significantly sloped backyard that rendered the space unusable. Additionally, the client wanted to retain the existing fence, adding another layer of complexity.

Rogers Little Loaders’ Solution: A Multi-faceted Approach with Creative Integration

Rogers Little Loaders developed a comprehensive strategy to address the challenges and fulfill the client’s wishes. Here’s a breakdown of the key steps involved:

  • Creating a Level Platform: Addressing the Slope

The team constructed a substantial 800mm high retaining wall made of hardwood. This stepped wall served two key purposes: it created a level platform, significantly increasing usable space in the backyard, and effectively addressed the slope that previously hindered functionality.

  • Ensuring Proper Drainage: A Crucial Step for Sloped Landscapes

Effective drainage is paramount in sloped landscapes to prevent water pooling and potential issues. Rogers Little Loaders ensured proper water flow by installing a well-functioning drainage system.

  • Raising the Backyard Level: Creating a Balanced Outdoor Space

To achieve a more balanced and functional area, 25 cubic meters of CBR 15 class A fill were meticulously layered and compacted to raise the overall backyard level.

  • Fence Integration: Preserving the Existing Fence with Creative Solutions

Since the client desired to retain the existing fence, Rogers Little Loaders developed a creative solution. New fence posts were strategically installed directly on the retaining wall. Topped with a pine fence, this approach seamlessly integrated the old fence with the new landscaping, honoring the client’s wishes.

  • Healthy Base for Lush Turf: Providing a Foundation for Success

Following the groundwork, Rogers Little Loaders added 10 cubic meters of high-quality underturf soil. This nutrient-rich base provided the perfect foundation for the new turf to thrive.

  • The Finishing Touch: Empire Zoysia Turf for a Vibrant Lawn

The project culminated in laying Empire Zoysia turf. This popular choice is known for its durability and suitability for the Brisbane climate. The lush green lawn transformed the previously unusable space into a beautiful and inviting outdoor retreat.

Beyond Functionality: A Backyard Oasis in a Sloped Mansfield Property

By skillfully addressing the challenges of the sloped backyard in Mansfield and creatively integrating the existing fence, Rogers Little Loaders delivered a solution that not only enhanced the aesthetics of the property but also created a functional outdoor retreat for the homeowners. This project exemplifies their ability to listen to client needs, develop innovative solutions, and deliver exceptional results that transform even sloped backyards into dream outdoor spaces.
